Yesterday

ravens
We will never forget. Time will never fade your memory.

Yesterday I was truly touched by the NFL's 9/11 tributes honoring all those lost 10 years ago. Standing with 77,000 other fans at the Ravens game chanting USA USA USA really gave me chills.

And how about them Ravens! It was the best.game.ever! True perfection...it felt like a dream. :)

Wordless Wednesday

OK so maybe I shouldn't call it wordless since I always have something to say. But calling this post just Wednesday sounds silly. Don't you think? Anywho, today I had to go into the office and swim my way through the monsoons and serious thunderstorms that mother nature surprised us with today. Thankfully little man had a great day with his Grandma and seemed to be more then excited for some playtime when I got home tonight. He really loves playing in the curtains. Honestly the little man is lucky i let him even play for 5 mins today with them since this is the second time we had to hang them again since he has ripped them from the WALL. Oh the joy he finds in small things. Love him.

Kicking it Old School

For the last 2 and half weeks we have been without are very trusty video monitor. This means we have had to rely on our trusty hearing when it comes to Cole’s naps and bedtime. Well not OUR hearing but MY hearing since the Hubs could sleep through a freight train going through our bedroom and not even move an inch. The darn video monitor just went kaput one night and after a few days of contemplating on what to do, I found out it there was a recall on the battery for the monitor. So I made the call to the baby manufacturer and 10 days later we are still sans new battery.

It amazes me how reliant we have become on this video monitor. Really it gives me such peace of mind to look down at the screen and see little man tumbling about in his crib. Or to hear him talking quietly to himself when he wakes in the morning. How did our parents do without this amazing technology when were young? I suppose it’s a small blessing to know that we can make do just fine without it. But really I’m over it already and need my trusty side kick back and working a.s.a.p.!

Mac n Cheese is Gross!

Yea if my son could speak he would be shouting those words while launching his car shaped mac n cheese across the kitchen! The food struggle that started about 3 months ago continues today. I was hoping it was just a phase he was going through but this behavior seems to be sticking around and I’m at a loss on what to do about it. Every single day I struggle to get Cole to eat 3 meals. Hell I would be happy if he ate even 2 whole meals everyday. And it’s not that he’s just a picky a eater because trust me I would let him eat grilled cheese everyday if he would eat it. But with Cole what works one day isn’t promised to work the next day. Most nights around 6:30pm it looks like there was a legit food fight in my kitchen. I spend lots of time picking up food from the ground while trying to come up with something else he might eat. I know this can’t all be because I have a picky eater on my hands but a toddler trying to test his boundaries. But what do I do? Remove him from his high chair once he starts throwing his food? I can’t help but feel like I’m starving him. Do I move on to another food option that might end up in his tummy and not the floor? Is catering to this behavior only making it worse? The one thing he can’t seem to get enough of is his milk. The boy drinks it like it’s going to of style. But that can’t be enough for a growing boy.

I have searched the world wide web on what will solve this issue….bottom line is consistency. If he’s going to throw his food on the ground then meal time is over. When he is ready to eat he will eat. I’m going to try and take this approach and remind myself that he’s not starving. Hell the boy weighs 27 pounds…not sure how since he barley eats but I’m hoping this makes meal time easier for all of us.
