Nice long weekend

The husband and me took off work today and tomorrow to make it a nice long weekend. We have lots of fun stuff planned like trips to Annapolis, finishing up Cole's big boy room, the park, a Ravens game and an early anniversary celebration. Were not only having dinner out to celebrate 4 awesome years we are also going to a concert!

As Cole goes down for his nap, I wanted to share a picture from this morning.

Our Anniversary

It is amazing that it’s been 3 years since that beautiful fall day in Baltimore. The words we promised to each other on that day still ring true today. Hubs is my best friend. My love. My partner in this crazy ride called life.


I’m one lucky lady to be married to one of the good ones. Seriously. This man has a heart of gold. He may not send me flowers every week but he does clean the kitty cat’s litter every day. And folks that’s love. It’s the small things that matter the most to me. That kiss every morning before he leaves for work. The how did you sleep last night dear. The phone call in the middle of day just to say I love you. Cooking dinner for the umpteenth night in a row. Those are the things that make my heart pitter patter.

The past 3 years have not been perfect by any stretch of the imagination. We have had our trials and struggles just like everybody else, but we have always found a way to learn from them and grow. Because in the end this is what matters most to both of us. This life and family we are building together. I’m excited to celebrate this day with Hubs, to soak in the love we share for one another and look into all the amazing possibilities the future holds for us.

I met the love of my life at 12...

This past Monday was a special day in the Shinaberry household it marked 2 years of marriage! Yep two glorious, life changing and lightning fast years since we said I do! As many of you know the story of Cam and me was in the works long before we ever realized it. We met in middle school, Cam sat behind me in math class and loved to joke around and call me names. All in good fun of course but that was the extent of our relationship. We went through high school as mere acquaintances and ran in different circles. Cam likes to say I was a swimmer so all I did was swim...truth is I was kinda of a good girl and Cam was more outgoing and had a good time. :)
Fast forward seven years later, older and wiser about life, love and everything else we find ourselves on Christmas Eve together at a bar in Baltimore talking into the wee hours. No idea what we talked about...Reconnecting and catching up I suppose, whatever it was it would be the start of us.We have been together ever since and I can't imagine life without him! I love you hubby!
