Pumpkin Painting

Since I'm home riding out the storm and seem to still have power I thought why not blog. OK so a few weeks ago we decorated are pumpkins. Like last year I wanted to get Cole involved but without putting a knife in his hands. We stuck strictly to paint and he really enjoyed it. The difference this year was he would ONLY use the brush to paint not his hands. Man are toddlers particular. For Cole and baby Emery's pumpkins I kept it simple and put there initials on the pumpkins and let him go to town.

I even got in on the action and taped my pumpkin in a Chevron pattern and spray painted it white. Super easy and I love the way it turned out.

I'm really hoping that Sandy doesn't wash out all of Halloween, but at this rate there may not be any Halloween candy left in my house come Wednesday. I knew I should have waited to open it!

24 weeks

Since my 20 week update the bump has defiantly grown. The weight gain is finally coming on, 4lbs this month alone. I feel like I'm hungry every 2 hours these days..must be a baby growth spurt. I'm trying my best to keep my eating it in check and not blow up like I did with Cole but the holidays are quickly approaching. Whaa.

I have had really bad sciatic nerve pain for the past 2 weeks. I went to see my doctor just in hopes for some relief but there isn't much she could do. The pain is caused by the weight of my uterus that is laying on the nerve. Its like no pain i have ever experienced its shooting pain on one side of my lower back and down my leg. It takes my breath away. The doctor told me to work from home for a week and rest, as well as start physical therapy. Trying to find some relief I decided to try sleeping on our guest bed that is much firmer then our bed. 5 Days later and I can tell a huge difference.

During my pregnancy with Cole I experienced awful hip pain at night starting right around this time. And wouldn't you know it..it's shown up again. I guess its just how my body handles pregnancy.

OK I'm done whining. I know pregnancy isn't a walk in the park so I just need to suck it up and get over it. Once I get to hold my baby girl it will all be worth it!

How far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +9.5 lbs
Maternity Clothes? Yep
Stretch Marks? No
Sleep? These past 2 weeks have been awful, between back and hip pain and peeing every few hours sleep is not that great.
Food Cravings: Still loving grilled cheese and cereal
Gender: Girl
Belly Button in or out? In
What I am looking forward to: Our new mattress, yep this back pain has led to the purchase of a new mattress and it arrives tomorrow!

The Zoo

Awhile back I took Cole to the Baltimore Zoo. It had been awhile since we had gone and at this age everything is a new experience. He just loved it! We covered every square inch of the place with zero breaks...I tried to beg him to stop for some food but homeboy was on a mission. He NEEDED to see it all so we did. This time the penguins put on a good show by jumping in and out of the water and swimming around. Cole really got a kick out of this and he didn't budge for at least 15minutes watching them do there thing. The Chimps once again scared the living day out of him. I get it they are huge and when a chimp comes up to the window and bangs on it...it kinda freaks me out too! The weather was great and it seemed all the animals were out and enjoying it, we got to see them all up close which was a real treat.

And now a crap load of pictures of Mama and Cole's day at the Zoo.

Catch Up Time

During our long weekend off a few weeks back we decided to go to downtown Annapolis for breakfast and walk around. I seriously love that place. Growing up I really took for granted that it was only 10 minutes away and I promise not to let that happen with Cole. I want him to be very familiar with this town by the Bay and all the little things it has to offer. We started with breakfast at Chick N Ruth's then walked the historic streets down to the playground by the bay.

Cole loves that park it's huge and has all kinds of neat things to try.

He calls these marshmallow tops.

After the park we walked over to the bay to feed the ducks some bread. Morning in Annapolis 062

It's one of those mornings you wish wouldn't end. I wish we could spend everyday together like this.

Cole Sayings

Last night we went to a local restaurant for dinner called Adams Ribs.

In the car ride over to Adams…

Cole: “ Mama, what are you doing?”
Me: “ Just sitting here, what are you doing?”
Cole: “Going to Adams”
Me: “Yea I’m going to Adams too”
Cole: “That’s cool”

These days some of Cole's favorite sayings are “That’s cool” , “I’m good” or “How?”. Oh kid you make me smile.
