Half Way!!!

20 weeks down and 20 weeks to go! I have been blessed so far to feel pretty good during this pregnancy, there are a few things I have discovered since being pregnant I just wasn't expecting by the half way point. While I did read that your boobs could grow up to 2 cup sizes I wasn't expecting to already be at that point, the hormone raging breakouts that take me back to when I was 17 and lastly my sense of smell... I can smell everything within a 100 feet radius of myself! It's like it's right under my nose!

The Valentine Blizzards that hit this area have moved the nursery decorating into full speed! It has taken my already obsessive search for the perfect wall decal for Cole's room to a whole new level with my ambitious thoughts of having large zoo animals on the wall or having a monogrammed decal above the crib. I love love love doing this stuff it gets me so excited to make Cole's room a fun, loving and soothing space for him to enjoy! Updates on nursery project to come.

Maternity Clothes? All, second round of all new bra's...this needs to stop!

Nesting Already?

It has to be to early to be Nesting right?!?!I'm about half way through this pregnancy and I'm already feeling the urge to have everything organized and in place for when Cole comes in June. June people it's only February! Thankfully my husband who is a huge planner has jumped right on board with my crazy desire to have everything ready!

My newest urge was to finally get that Kitchen table we have talked about getting since we moved into our house 10 months ago. Last Friday before our doctors appointment I casually suggested to Cam that since we have time lets go look around Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn to get some idea's about what we wanted for a Kitchen table. I know he agreed all along thinking we were just 'Looking", Crate & Barrel had some lovely tables but they did not exactly fit what we wanted. So off to Pottery Barn we went, Cam was skeptical we would find anything but then we turned the corner in to this rustic weathered and distressed table that took our breaths away! We were sold at first sight!

The rustic color had just the right hint of red that would go great with our kitchen cabinets, the table was already distressed - great for kids, it extends to sit 8 comfortably - we have family over all the time and lastly it was so sturdy! Cam turned to me and said we should get this table shouldn't we?!?!...Yes of course!! Ahhh the joys of having found our Family Kitchen table for what I believe will be in our family for many many years to come!

So one huge check off the list of things I want to do before Cole arrives!

The long wait is over we are happy to announce we are having a baby boy!

On Friday we had are 18-20 week full anatomy scan, Cam and me were both so anxious to see the ultrasound and to find out what we were having. So we arrived pretty early for the appointment hoping they would take us in early...I'm not sure if they could just see how anxious we were or just lucky but we got to go in early. :)
As we walked back the technician asked if we would be finding out the sex today and we both said YES! And started talking about how we didn't know how people could wait the whole 10 months ...She said well I'm not going to make you wait any longer will check out what your having first then do all the measurements for the baby.

It took her about 10 seconds to say "I know what your having....a boy!!!". Now I have read that many women cry when they find out there pregnant or the first time they hear there baby's heartbeat that didn't happen for me. It was the moment the technician told me I was going to have a son. The water works started, I was smiling and crying looking at the screen and at Cam. I was so overjoyed the emotions were all over the place. Cam was smiling from ear to ear just looking at me saying I can't believe we are having a boy! The next 30 minutes the tech proceeded with the screening of him ...checking his heart, brain, kidneys, stomach,etc.... He's doing great and everything looks wonderful!

My little man is growing a whole week ahead of schedule so I'm officially 19 weeks but I'm measuring 20 weeks. Right now he's 9inches long and weights 7 ounces! We have some 3D shots of him (WARNING- he looks very alien like...very skinny but it's very normal at this point)actually a total of 15 pictures, the tech we had said she doesn't usually give people that many but she liked us so much she wanted us to have them! She Rocked!

Now the fun starts! Getting his nursery ready and buying him clothes! I know clothes shopping is much more fun for little girls but I can tell you they have come a long way for little boys. I scored big time at the Outlets this weekend and the clothes are just so cute!

After much thought we have decided on a name, Cole Shinaberry! We wanted to have a name that was unique and it just felt so right to us. We think it's a great little boys name and manly enough for when he's older! We have a middle name picked out but won't be reveling that till Cole joins us in June. :)

Boy or Girl?!?!

I found this Wives’ Tale Survey and thought I’d test it out, since pretty soon (FRIDAY)we will know for sure whether if it's is a boy or girl. I was feeling boy during my first trimester then girl and now I'm thinking boy again. I feel like I have no idea anymore!

17 weeks and Counting...

17 weeks! I have now officially entered into my fifth month of pregnancy! Time is just flying by and I can only imagine the next 160 days will too!

I'm happy to report that I'm feeling pretty awesome these days. Besides the ever growing belly and legs there are times throughout the day I forget all together that I'm pregnant. I have however started to crave chocolate after dinner every night :) This is very new to me I have never had a sweet tooth so I give into my/baby needs with a few Hershey kisses but besides that no crazy food consumption as of yet. I'm sure it will come at some point in the next 8 weeks since this will be when I gain most and baby Shinaberry will double and triple in size!

Last night after dinner I was laying down and felt this kinda butterflies fluttering feeling on my right side. I know it was not gas and not hunger pains ...it was my baby! I was so excited! I can't wait till this happens all the time it is such a great feeling to know your little one is in there and is doing good. :)

I can't put into words how anxious and excited I'm to find out if we are having a girl or boy. I have had the some crazy dreams these past few days, both have been about a girl and boy. Supposedly this is very normal due to all the pregnancy hormones in me. Either way I'm excited to put a name to he or she, to start thinking about nursery ideas and buy baby stuff! We decided we wouldn't buy anything till we found out the sex of the baby so I will be going crazy in February! Yippee!

15 week update!

We are back from Mexico and all ready for 2010! I'm officially 15 weeks pregnant and starting to see a bump :). Our baby is now the size of an apple...oh how i love apples!

My second trimester while only 3 weeks into it has been going pretty good, I have a lot more energy and my sickness has gone away. The only real complaint would have to be indigestion pretty much after every meal I eat. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat fruit or french fries or bread it's always soon to follow.

We had our NT Scan at week 12 that checks for down syndrome or any genetic disorders. Thankfully baby Shinaberry shows no signs of any problems! We couldn't believe in just 2 weeks from our last ultrasound that the baby had grown so much! When the tech started the screening the baby looked to be sleeping in about 3 seconds the baby started kicking away! In what I can best describe to you as an invert yoga position! Legs straight up and kicking away! I can't wait for the week 18ultrasound!!!

How far along? 15 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 7lbs
Maternity Clothes? One pair of jeans that have elastic...there for the in between real jeans and maternity jeans.
Stretch Marks? nope
Sleep? much better these days...peeing only 2 to 3 times a night!

Week 15 Belly Shot

I'm Pregnant!

Obviously this is no big secret that I'm in fact pregnant but I wanted to share how I told Cam we were expecting our little bundle of joy! After this summer ended we decided we were going to start trying to have a baby. I was hoping things we would be successful but you just never know till you start trying. Well it was a success our second month I had become pregnant!

I was due to get my period the next day but just couldn't wait any longer to take a pregnancy test!!!! I honestly don't know how I waited that long...I had read somewhere it was best to take the test in the morning but I threw caution to the wind and took it on my lunch break! And to my surprise it said PREGNANT! My first thought was OMG we did it! Next thought was how I'm going to tell Cam!?!?!

So I came up with the idea to tell him after my lunch break that I had gone shopping during it and gotten some shoes for our upcoming trip to NYC. He seemed less then excited about my new purchase but I thought wait till he finds out!

After work I went straight to Target to find any gender neutral shoes I could and something that said Daddy on it. I raced home and got an old shoe box out and placed it on the bed,in which i put the new shoes, the adorable onesie and the positive pregnancy test! And then I just waited....folding laundry in the bedroom all awhile I was about to explode in anticipation! Finally Cam came home,I made sure before he did anything else that he look in the box at my new shoes and then the look I will never forget complete shock and confusion came across his face! He just looked at me saying over and over again "Are you!? Are you!?" until I answered him YES! It was priceless and I don't think it set in for him or me for a few days later!
