7 Months!

Holy Cow 7 months! Like every month that passes I ask where the time has gone?!? I can't remember a time without him here, he has enriched my life in so many ways. It's amazing the clarity a child can bring to your life. The mundane things you would worry about before seem so petty now that you have a child. I feel more love, compassion and hope because of Cole. I love being his mom. I'm feeling extra mushy today if you can't tell.:)So let me move along before it gets to sappy...

- Is eating 4 bottles a day, and three meals a day! Oatmeal with fruit in the a.m., Lunch is Vegetables and dinner is either Fruit or Vegetables.

- Weighs in at 19lbs 9oz as of last night.

- Depending on what brands but he is wearing 9mo & 12mo clothes.

- Is sleeping from 6:45pm to 6am. We try to get him to stay up later but he is all business when it comes to bed time.

- Is taking three naps still. One short one early morning, One mid morning and then one late afternoon.

- He is wearing size 3 diapers

- Loves to sit all the time, reaches for toys out in front of him. But I don't see him crawling anytime soon. Seem content enough just sitting.

- Can say Da Da, Na Na, and MA MA! Yep he's saying Ma Ma!

- Now takes bath's without the baby tub.

- Has a wonderful way of greeting you, he grabs the sides of your face/hair and comes in for some love. It's so cute but it usually means big open mouth kisses or headbutt!

- Everything still goes straight into he's mouth. Can't wait till that is over.

- Loves being naked and always enjoys inserting his foot into his mouth. Literally.

- He worked so hard to pick up the small puffs but has finally mastered it, getting it into his mouth is another thing. :)

- He is so inquisitive and really takes in all that is going on around him. He's soaking up the world around him like a sponge.

- He loves watching the Mikey Mouse Clubhouse, he smiles every time we put it on.

- Enjoys reading as long as he can touch the book. Baby Bear, Baby Bear What do you see? and Guess How Much I love you, are two of his favorites.


That's all I can think of right now. Little man...I love you to the moon and back!






 

Old Rocking Chair

At Christmas Cole got so many wonderful gifts but one stood out as extra special to me. It was an old wicker rocking chair that I had used when I was a little girl. Actually the chair goes back all the way to my grandmother when she was a little girl in the late 1920's. My parents wanted to pass it along to there first grandchild but first had to get it a little retouched. First they got it dipped to remove all the old led paint and then painted it again. Next they removed the seat and found fabric coverings that went 5 deep ...all the way back to the original one. They replaced the covering and it looks just like new! Cole seems to enjoy sitting it, well mostly eating the sides of it. :)
I just hope we can take care of it as well as my family has over the last 80 years ,so one day I can pass it down!

Big Boy Bath

My little man took his first Big Boy bath, he has been sitting on his own for awhile now so I figured it was time to try it out. He didn't seem overly excited about the whole experience...actually I think we were more excited then him! Um..hence all the pictures below. So the baby tub is being retired down to the basement. Tear :(
Anyway it's another milestone Cole has hit and shows little man is growing up. Seriously where is the pause button?!?







Also I just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words and support concerning my last blog, it really helps to hear such encouraging words. :)

April 19th

I have been trying to avoid it. Not talk about. Maybe if I don't it will just go away. But it won't and now there is actually a date set. My poor little boy will be having surgery on April 19Th. Yes surgery. Not soon after Cole was born they discovered he had a mild case of hypospadias. I won't get into the details and if you do look it up be advised you may see some graphic pictures. Thankfully Cole's case is very mild, his pee pee hole is under on the tip not in the middle of the tip. That's my G rated way of describing it. It occurs in 1 of every 200 births.It is not painful and doesn't cause him any issues. The real issue is later in his life. It can cause fertility issues and stream issues. The only way to correct this is surgery. The specialist recommend to do it between 6-12months of age so we picked April. It's an in and out patient procedure but it requires him to go under for 2hrs. This is the part that scares the crap out of me. Cole will be almost 10months old and he will be going under?!? I get teary eyed just writing it. Only one of us is allowed to go back and hold his hand while they put him under, I want to be strong enough to be that one person. I fear I'm not. I don't want Cole to see me crying or upset before they take him away to surgery so I need to do lots of mental preparation to get ready for this day. I know this is a minor surgery and everything will be fine but seeing your child in any kind of discomfort is anguish to a parent. Maybe if I start talking about it now it will help me prepare to be strong and realize that this is the best thing for Cole and his future. Cole is a happy and resilient boy and this will only be a bump in the road during his first year of life. I'll just keep saying that till April 19Th.

Here are some videos I took this week, nothing to exciting. I have been pushing Ma Ma for a few weeks now, but Cole isn't playing along.He finds it amusing that I'm even trying. Ha. So it's Da Da and lots of screaming for now. :) He's also really starting to enjoy some of the toys he got for Christmas...in fact he recieved so many toys we have turned our living room into his playroom. It's hard to wrap my brain around the fact that one little baby requires so much stuff! Anyway, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Happy Friday!

Bedtime Fun

Thankfully Cole is back to his pre sick sleep pattern, we have been making it a point to sick to the same routine every night. Bath, little bit of play time in his room, bottle then bedtime stories. This night we brought out one of the new toys Cole had gotten for Christmas, some race car thing. Yea not really sure what it's called but the Hubs was so excited about it I thought he wanted it more for himself then Cole! While it says 6mo or older it doesn't seem very age appropriate. The whole drop the cars watch them spin and spit out the winner concept was completely lost on Cole. He loved watching the cars spin round and round but all he wanted to do was put his hands in and grab the cars. The noise from that thing can give anyone a splitting headache and scared the grab out of the cats. But Cam seemed to enjoy it and I'm sure Cole will to someday...Anyway it's great to be back with little man, I just couldn't help but take a few pictures. I swear he looks like he grew 3inches while we were gone.

Back to Reality

After an wonderful Vaca to Vegas with hubby and some amazing friends it's back to Reality. Oh how I wish my only job was to watch Cole. Instead I have to commute 45min both ways to work and tomorrow there calling for snow early morning which usually means lots of traffic.dislike.

Anyway Vegas was awesome! We stayed at Aria located in the City Center, I really can't say I disliked anything about the hotel it was top notch. We got to hang out with our friends sans kids, win some money and eat great food. I just wish I could have gotten more sleep but I suppose Vegas really isn't known for that.:)
4 nights away from little man was as much as I could handle, it feels great to be back and just love all over him.I took a few pictures but not nearly as many as I had wished to. Actually I only took pictures the first day.fail.
