More Christmas

More Christmas Morning Pictures,

Cole's First Christmas!

So I wanted to put this up yesterday but poor little Cole has other plans, little man is very sick. Seems his first Christmas got the best of him and he has cold and a terrible fever. This is the first time I can really tell he doesn't feel well because all he wants is to be held.

Anyway, Christmas morning was held at our house. We had both families over to see Cole open his gifts. Man oh man is this boy spoiled! He seriously had 20 gifts under the tree and he doesn't even know what Christmas is! He did a great job opening his gifts (little help from his momma) and loved being the center of attention. We all had an amazing breakfast after thanks to Vicki and my mom. On the menu, french toast casserole, gravy and biscuits and egg casserole! I think I gained 5 pounds just from that meal. And to top it all off it Snowed! Yep I can't remember a Christmas in my life in Maryland when it had snowed but Cole got snow his very first Christmas!

We had a wonderful time with our families and can't wait till next year. I have a feeling it's going to be very different with Cole being mobile.

But we had to stop by his Grandma and Grandpa's so he could see them :)

Christmas Eve

The festivities began on Christmas Eve at my parents house, like last year we picked names. We try to keep it a surprise who has who but everyone seems to figure out who has who before Christmas arrives. Plus we all give a short wish list of what we want, second year in a row my husband had only the Call of Duty video gameon his list. Yep, he is a 12 year old at heart. My mom wanted to have some fun this year and asked us all to participate in "Shuveunder", everyone has a different name for this but the gist is everyone picks a number then you choose a gift and then the next person can steal it or pick a new gift. My mom said to bring gifts that you had laying around the house that you don't want anymore or have never used. It was hugely entertaining and the Halloween wig was the biggest hit and even got stolen by my very bald Dad! Cole got to open his first Christmas gift and seemed to enjoy tearing the paper more then receiving the gift. :)

Moments like this

It's moments like this why I love having time with my family during the Christmas season. While I was in the kitchen baking brownies (i kid you not) I hear my boys playing in the family room, I tried to sneak up and catch them enjoying each other.

The boy likes to eat

One thing I never have to worry about is Cole eating, as you can see here when he see's he's food he can not wait to eat! He is very vocal when it comes to his food. :)

Tis the Season

To be Jolly and a bit M.I.A. from the world. With all my time off and preparing for Christmas I have had very little time to blog or upload pictures. I have been spending some great one on one time with my little man and it's been wonderful. We have mostly just stuck close to home but ventured out to the Mall one day to just walk around. Cole is at the age that every new thing he sees is utterly amazing to him, he gets big eyes and starts squealing when he See's something he likes.

Cole experienced his first ride in the front of the cart at the grocery store sans car seat. And loved it! He couldn't stop looking around and flirting with the other shoppers. This is a huge change because up to now we had been using the infant car seat which we always brought it in with us. But since we have moved on to the big boy car seat this weekend things they be a changing. It's kinda of a weird feeling like I have lost my security blanket, the convenience and ease of the infant car seat are gone. So when Cole falls asleep in his new car seat and we get to our destination I have to wake him up. No more snapping the car seat to the stroller and off we go. Lets just say it seems like a lot more work! I'm sure I'll adjust and get use to this new way of travel for us. At least Cole seems to like his new digs, there is a lot more room and he's can see out the window.

OK enough rambling...I have presents to wrap and sweets to make.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Baby Food Love

Before Cole started on solids I made the decision that I wanted to make all his baby food. There are some great organic baby food choices out there, but I loved the idea that of making his food from scratch with fresh foods. I received this So Easy Kit at my baby shower and it was a great starter kit. The recipes are pretty basic and made everything very EASY.

I'm not exactly what you would call a wiz in the kitchen ,I was a little worried but it takes about 30 mins every week to prepare enough food for a week to a week and a half. All you need is a good peeler and a blender and your good to go. I do suggest investing in some 2oz and 4oz containers for freezing if you cook a bunch of different foods at one time. Some of the foods I have made for Cole are pears, applesauce, sweet potatoes and butternut squash. We have a great variety of foods all ready to go in our freezer.

Now that Cole has tried a lot of different foods and seems to love them all. I can start to try some more recipes with more ingredients. This book below is on my wish list...

Its the first time I'm actually excited to cook, guess it took becoming a Mom to make me more domestic. :)

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth

OK so for Cole its his two bottom teeth but you get the point. The past 2 weeks Cole's two bottom teeth have been making there way up and out. For the most part he has handled it pretty well. A bit more fussy then usual but nothing I can't handle. I was also scared teething meant sleepless nights but he has only woken up one night crying in pain. Thankfully baby Tylenol does wonders for him.The drooling is out of control, usually requiring a change in shirts during the day. He also wants to bite down on anything for relief! He doesn't like to show them off put welcomes your finger in his mouth to chew on. :)

Last week when the started coming...

Mom stop taking my picture...

Oh Christmas Tree

Oh how I love Christmas! This past weekend we went out and got our tree, we didn't go to far to find one that works. In fact the place is less then 1/2 mile from our house, we wanted the real fun to be decorating the tree. My husband is somewhat obsessed with Christmas so we had Christmas music playing while all three of us decorated the tree. Well Cole just supervised but he did help hang the very first ornament on the tree. This whole week Cole has just been loving the lights on the tree and if he can get close enough he wants to touch it. I'm sure next Christmas will be a real challenge keeping away from the tree.

A Date with Santa

Today Cam and me took off work to spend the day with Cole and recover from the Ravens Sunday night game. After a very disappointing loss by the Ravens a day with Cole was just what we needed. We headed down to Annapolis and went to see Santa and do a little Christmas Shopping. We went to see Santa first, the line was super short and Cole was amazed by all the decorations and little kids around. When it came his time to meet Santa he just stared at him like who are you? We had the hardest time getting him to look forward for the picture he just kept looking up, down and all around at everything! But they got one good shot and he did wonderful. After all the sensory overload we went shopping where he soon fell asleep so Cam and me decided to have take advantage of this by having lunch over at the Annapolis Town Center. It was a great day!

Friday Films!

Seriously I couldn't be happier that today is Friday! We have a very festive weekend with all the best Christmas traditions. Hanging Christmas lights outside, getting our tree and even going to meet Santa! I slacked off last week but it was thanksgiving and I was still full from the MASSIVE amounts of food I ate. So this week I made a point to take some videos of Cole. Here he is doing his thing...please ignore me making an absolute full of myself. I do it for him what can I say.

Gobble Gobble

Thanksgiving 2010 has come and gone leaving me feeling a good 5 pounds heavier! I have so much to be thankful for this year and just keep counting my blessings for all that we have. We hosted Thanksgiving dinner at our house again this year, Cam was in charge of the Turkey and after last year under his belt this year went smoothly. He does this sage/bacon/syrup thing to it sounds yummy huh...it tasted amazing! Our wonderful mothers each brought a few things that made the dinner into one of the finest yet! Cole didn't get to eat any of it but he did sit at the table in his high chair and enjoyed some pears. Cole was so excited to have everyone there he didn't even nap that afternoon and feel asleep for the night at 6pm!
