I'm Pregnant!

Obviously this is no big secret that I'm in fact pregnant but I wanted to share how I told Cam we were expecting our little bundle of joy! After this summer ended we decided we were going to start trying to have a baby. I was hoping things we would be successful but you just never know till you start trying. Well it was a success our second month I had become pregnant!

I was due to get my period the next day but just couldn't wait any longer to take a pregnancy test!!!! I honestly don't know how I waited that long...I had read somewhere it was best to take the test in the morning but I threw caution to the wind and took it on my lunch break! And to my surprise it said PREGNANT! My first thought was OMG we did it! Next thought was how I'm going to tell Cam!?!?!

So I came up with the idea to tell him after my lunch break that I had gone shopping during it and gotten some shoes for our upcoming trip to NYC. He seemed less then excited about my new purchase but I thought wait till he finds out!

After work I went straight to Target to find any gender neutral shoes I could and something that said Daddy on it. I raced home and got an old shoe box out and placed it on the bed,in which i put the new shoes, the adorable onesie and the positive pregnancy test! And then I just waited....folding laundry in the bedroom all awhile I was about to explode in anticipation! Finally Cam came home,I made sure before he did anything else that he look in the box at my new shoes and then the look I will never forget complete shock and confusion came across his face! He just looked at me saying over and over again "Are you!? Are you!?" until I answered him YES! It was priceless and I don't think it set in for him or me for a few days later! Below are some pictures I took of my little surprise!

11 weeks!

Baby Shinaberry is 11 weeks old today, and is only the size of a fig but it's presence is known! Since finding out I was pregnant my symptoms have been pretty much the same the past 7 weeks.

I'm beyond tired... my bedtime is between 8:30pm-9:30pm. I can count on one hand how many times I have stayed up past 10:30pm in the past 2 months. Somehow 10 hours of sleep (interrupted every 2hrs for peeing) is just not enough! I'm hoping this will subside in the coming weeks so I can accomplish some things after work.

The boobs...if your a male you may want to stop reading. Almost immediately they have grown a size larger...not kidding! And they hurt soooo bad. I have to wear a sports bra to bed every night so I won't cringe in pain. But the upside I have wonderful new cleavage!

And lastly, this one I thought I had escaped from...morning sickness. It should be called anytime of the day sickness. For me it didn't start till around week 8 and is still lingering around today. Thankfully, it just consists of nausea which leads to me gagging. Yes folks gagging,...this can happen at anytime of the day but thankfully doesn't last to long. My mother had it much worse she was throwing up every morning with me so thank goodness that's not me!

Of course I wouldn't want it any other way...I'm so happy to be experiencing all that this pregnancy has in store for me because in the end we will have a beautiful baby! So bring it on!

How far along? 11 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 2lbs... but it feels like more :(
Maternity Clothes? I have already resorted to using a rubber band when wearing jeans. It buttons but it's uncomfortable so rubber band it is! Shirts with cleavage have a whole new meaning. Wow!
Stretch Marks? god no!
Sleep? in 2 hour increments between my peeing
Best moment this week: Telling everyone we are pregnant! Well not my work just yet...
Movement? way to soon
Food Cravings: I love love love cereal! All kinds but seem to like the sugary kids kind. Meat...Cheeseburgers sound like heaven!
Gender: I'm leaning toward boy, Cam is convinced it's a girl.
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: Having Energy...
What I am looking forward to: We have another sonogram next week so I get to see the baby again!
Weekly Wisdom: Sweatshirts are the best thing ever!
Milestones: Limited it to only 3 sodas a week...before I was pregnant it was 3 a day!

BIG NEWS!!!

We are proud to announce that we our expecting our first little baby Shinaberry!!!! We couldn't wait any longer to share it with everyone! So generally your suppose to wait the recommended 12 weeks but we have decided to share it with you all now! I'm officially 10 weeks and 2 days along! As you can imagine we are more then thrilled and just feel so blessed! I'm still trying to wait on spreading the news via FB for a little while longer. We just had our first sonogram, it was very moving and showed the baby moving it's arm's and legs. In the words of the technician "Look the baby is swimming" how appropriate !! :)We are expecting the little bundle of joy on June 29, 2010! Here is the sneak video by Cam of the ultrasound....I can't seem to figure out how to shorten it so it's a bit long :) It takes awhile to upload but it's worth the wait! Enjoy! Slacker = Me

So I have been slacking big time on blogging, this cold rainy weather we have been experiencing the past few weeks has been of no help! All I want to do when I come home from work is eat dinner then find my spot on the couch. So blogging has taken a back seat while I veg out!

The Christmas season is upon us and it's my favorite time of the year! We already have all our decorations up around the house and Christmas lights set up outside. I have watched National Lampoons Christmas Vacation twice and have completed most of my Christmas shopping! This weekend the Shinaberry household will be picking out our first real Christmas Tree, after last years disaster with Puma (and $1100 later) we will be sticking with the real thing here on out at Christmas. I'm looking forward to the real deal, when I was younger we always had a real tree and the smell was amazing.

And lastly, my official countdown to our Mexican Holiday has began! Only 24 days till I will be sitting on the beach in the nice warm sun :)

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Happy Anniversary to Cam & Me! We celebrated our first anniversary this past Sunday by just hanging out at the house watching our Ravens. Our gift to each is our trip to NYC in 2 weeks! I can't wait to just walk around the city & spend the weekend with my wonderful husband! Update on this weekend will come soon!

Off to Blackburg we go....

Today we will be leaving around lunch time on our long journey to Blacksburg,VA. This is one of Cam's favorite places in the world! This year will be different from previous years we will actually be tailgating before the game in the parking lot instead of at TOTS! I'm excited to be able to be there with a great group of people that will be sure to make our VT visit tons of fun! Go Hokies!

Yes! Now that's a Fireplace!

So when we first moved into our house we were confronted with a very unusual fireplace. It extended out into our family room and was covered in drywall. To say the least it left much to be desired so we did some research and decided to go with Stone. I love how it turned out and can't wait to see the finished look with Cam's new LED 55inch TV (yes, i caved in) mounted nicely on the wall this Friday! Here are some shots of the our new fireplace!

Oh how we love them...

One of the great joys of Saturday & Sunday mornings are when we are able to be at our home just hanging out with our two little fur balls Puma & Roxy. They love to lay/roll in the sun and around 9am the sun seems to hit just perfectly into our family room & kitchen. Here are some pictures of them enjoying every second of it!

Better Late then Never!

Happy Birthday to Cameron! He celebrated his 29th Birthday on Sept. 14th which was last Monday. However the day before we had our first Raven's home game of the year which we made sure at our tailgate to make the birthday boy feel special! I even baked a specially requested funfetti cake for Cam! <3

Fiesta Fiesta Fiesta!

This past weekend I went down to Raleigh, NC to join in the festivities for Erin & Daniel. Erin & Daniel will be getting married at the end of September so they decided to have a party with our the friends before hand. Erin's lovely bridesmaids put together the whole thing which took place at Daniel's dad's house out in Cary. The theme was a "stock there bar" fiesta, t was a ton of fun and food was sooooo good! I love my Carolina girls!

What's Our Name? RAVENS!

It's about that time of year again when the weather will soon to be turning cooler and our Sunday's will be filled with tailgating and Ravens football. Awwww :) . Last Thursday was our first pre-season game against the Washington Redskins and I was super pumped to be going to M&T Stadium again. Oh the small joys of putting on my Raven's jersey, listening to U2 blast as the Ravens' take the field and of course watching the Raven's win! As I had predicted the Raven's beat the Redskins very easily in what some call the beltway battle. Don't know why they call it that since it's not much of a battle for the Ravens :). Anyway I'm ecstatic that Raven's Football season is here! Yay!

Update on Keith Urban Concert!

So first of all I should explain how we get these awesome tickets for concerts the last few years, my dad actually knows someone high up in the Ticketmaster organization. If there is a concert coming to town and we are interested in going we have to contact him before they go on sale and he will get the tickets at face value for us before the are released to the public. I'm so grateful to this mystery man I have never meet but has given me the opportunity to see so many amazing bands up close! Last night our tickets said row H section 2, so we thought row 8 well turns out the way Keith's stage was layed out it meant 2nd row for the majority of the concert! Here our some pics! They do no justice I could see every pore on the man's face! :) It was awesome and I'm not regretting the lack of sleep i had to endure to go :)

Keith Urban!

Tonight is Keith Urban at the Verizon Center! I'm so excited to see him again and this time 8th Row! It will be just Mama Kos and me attending this evening which will be our fourth time seeing him in concert and let me tell you he's one of the good ones! I have been to a lot of concerts over the years and he is in my top 5 for sure!

Few lyrics from "Cause Only You Can Love Me This Way" makes me think of my hubby :)

"Well I know there’s a reason , And I know there’s a rhyme, We were meant to be together,That’s why----We can roll with the punches, We can stroll hand in hand, And when I say it’s forever, You understand---

That you’re always in my heart,You’re always on my mind, But when it all becomes too much,You’re never far behind, And there’s no one that comes close to youCould ever take your place. Cause only you can love me this way

I could have turned a different corner, I could have gone another place, Then I’d of never had this feeling,That I feel today, yeah.."

New House Party!

This past weekend we had a house warming party for the new digs. We set up the backyard with extra picnic tables(thanks m&d), corn hole and beer pong all in hopes of a great party! We had the basic burgers & dogs you would have at a cookout including some amazing sides made by my mother and mother in law :) . There were no leftovers and somehow we went through 175 beers!, I believe we can thank the boys for that! They really seemed to enjoy there time playing beer bong outside. All in all it was a great party with great friends, family and very yummy food. It was great to see everyone and thankful for all of you who made it.

Crabs, Friends and Beer = :)

Dropped the ball on this update, but better later then never! We had some friends over for a great night of crabs & beer on July 3rd. They all bravely made there way up from Northern Virgina to come see our new place and enjoy some yummy crabs. We bought 6 dozen and there wasn't one left at by the end of the night. We were so happy to have our first non family dinner party over and so glad to share it with such great friends. Thanks guys the night was great!

Its the small things that matter....

Moving back to Severna Park meant moving with in a mile of each of our parents which has been awesome. We typically have dinner with one of our parents or both once a week. Last night Vicki & Henry had us all over for dinner, I'm so grateful that we have such wonderful families!

Prime Rib! The weather was perfect!

Rebel XS

I have been wanting to get a new camera for awhile now and did my research on them before the big purchase. I went with the Canon Rebel XS and absolutely love it! It take the most amazing pictures!

Paint Paint Paint!

So after living in our house now for 3 months I decided it was time to PAINT! I had my paint clothes on and brush in hand ready to start our projects when Cam turned to me and said "Sarah, I don't think you'll be doing any painting" Huh? Well turns out my contribution to the painting projects was picking the colors! Cam and his dad took charge and painted all three rooms with ease. It is amazing what a little bit of color can do to a room :)
