8 months

Holy Cow! Here is what little man is up to these days....

-Cole is constantly on the move these days, while he's not crawling yet he does roll, lunge, grab and even pull himself up on me.
-He can stand up on his own holding something for awhile but is fearless and just lets go when he's done. Gives me a heart attack every time.
-He loves feeding himself puffs, cheerios and bananas...he's really good at doing it with his finger and thumb. I think it's time for him to start eating more finger foods.
-He's finally gotten over his protest of holding his bottle.
-He's started to try and clap, its more of a slapping of the front of each hand but it's a start.
-I have seen him wave hi a few times but doesn't do it consistently for me to think he knows what he's doing.
-Cole is quiet the talker these days, while most of it sounds like Chinese he can distinctively say dada and mama. He's even started saying Ma Ma when he's upset. Not sure if he's actually calling out for me..seems to early for him to be doing this.
-He's weight has stayed steady at 20lbs 5oz but he grown in height...rough guess is 27.5 inches long.
-He's wearing 12 month clothes and some 12-18 months.
-Hands down his favorite character is Mickey Mouse, the kid just lights up whenever he see's him.
-He loves when I sing and dance for him, finds it pretty amusing. Go figure.
-Bath time is becoming out of hand...showed him how to splash and now there seems to be more water out of tub then in by the end of it!
-He loves the kitty cats however he does not understand the world gentle. Ha. Poor kitty cats.

I can't get over how grown up he looks, he is seriously looking more like a toddler these days then a baby. Everyday with him brings new adventures, joy and excitement. Cole has a very easy going, rambunctious and happy temperament. I feel so blessed to call him mine.

99 Days

I will be here in 99 days! Corolla , North Carolina where the horses run free and life slows down. Oh I can just imagine the sunshine and warmth on my face right now.

99 days till I need to look like this in a bathing suit.

Ok so I will never look like this in a bathing suit but damn it I'm going to try real hard to come close. Those pestery 10 lbs I have allowed to take refuge on my hips and stomach must go! No more excuses. No more avoiding the mirror when I get dressed. There is no other choice. I have been running/walking for the past 2 weeks, and with 8 workouts down I have lost 2 lbs. A long time ago I use to be an athlete, I could endure hours of high impact workouts with barely feeling an ache anywhere. But now I'm older, I'm out of shape and I'm feeling it. I feel it in my hips the most. Which is beyond odd to me, is it because of the extra weight? Is it from having a baby? I know having a baby changes your body. Seriously my stomach looks like a deflated balloon that my cats pounced on and scratched the hell out of. Nice image huh?!? And yes many women lose the baby weight and get back to there original weight but everything feels different..fits differently. I never realized that till I had Cole.

Whatever the obstacles I have ahead of me I will not allow it to stop me.
So I'm going to try and keep my self motivated. To talk about my progress. And lose this weight.

First Trip to the Playground

After spending some time with the animals at Kinder Park, we walked over the the huge children's playground. This was obviously the place to be on a Friday afternoon if you have small children and great weather. I made a beeline for the swings hoping that Cole would be big enough to enjoy it. It was a little large but he did great and seemed to enjoy it. Honestly my kid would have been happier just people watching (kid watching for him) then go on the swing or slide but I just had to have him experience the playground! Once Cole starts walking I'm sure this will be somewhere we come often to let him run around and burn up some of that energy he has at all times. :)

Kinder Park

About 2 miles from our house is a wonder huge park called Kinder Farm Park. It's has a 3 mile hiking and biking trail, children's playgrounds, picnic areas, community gardens and a farm complex with live stock. This past Friday the weather was amazing, I'm talking 73 degrees in February! It was the perfect day to take Cole over to the park and go see the animals, I guess I wasn't the only who thought it would be a good idea because the place was packed. Cole was a little unsure at first but really warmed up to all the animals once we saw big 700 pound pig! No joke this pig was enormous. He was so curious with each animal he saw, he just couldn't keep his eyes off them. We got to see chickens, goats, rabbits, cows and sheep. I love watching him discover the world around him. Cole really opens my eyes to new things and gives me a new perspective on everything we do. I really can't wait to go back there this spring and summer with him!

Random

This past weekend my sister came up to visit, she said she was coming to see us but we all know it's Cole she came to see. My sister and me have very similar voices so whenever she would talk Cole would look at her like...wait your not my mommy! It was pretty funny.
I also got to enjoy an adult night out at a fine local establishment that has yummy food and great beer. And even kicked it old school and played Rummy 500 until the wee hours of the morning. It was a very much needed weekend. Here are some shots of Cole enjoying time with his Aunt CoCo...

Cole has also started to pull up on things, that handy little toy organizer in his playroom seems like a death trap waiting to fall on him now. I suppose we will have to bolt that to the wall. I thought babies were suppose to crawl first then start pulling up on things? This should be interesting.

Anyway I'm off to Training for the next few days.Boo.I hate being away from my boys.

OK done rambling.

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day! February 14Th brings great emphasis on roses, chocolates, candlelight and expensive dates. And I won't lie back when Hubs and me first started dating I wanted all of that, I suppose it was the newness of us and needing the validation that he loved me. This being our 6Th Valentines Day together I have to say all that stuff is just stuff. The hype of Valentines Day is completely lost on me. Don't give me roses to show your love, do this weeks laundry and you will make my heart swoon!
So I'll take this day to be grateful for Hubs & cherish the life we have built together, the love and laughter we share everyday and the perfect little boy we created.<3 <3 <3

Superbowl Sunday

We will be watching the Superbowl today but with a heavy chip on our shoulders. My disgust for the Steelers runs deep.We are die hard Raven's fans that were left again this year wondering what happened to us in the playoffs! We will be cheering heavily for the Green Bay Packers because if the Steelers win we just might get sick.

LEt's go Packers! And just cause he looks so darn cute...

Friday Films!

These days Cole seems to be on a mission to destroy all his toys. I don't know if it's the "boy" in him or a stage he is going through but he is destructive! In these videos Cole had just gotten up from a nap so please ignore his attire...he no longer had any patience for overalls.

Cole being way to strong for his own good....

Not so happy with his mommy....

So I gave him the toy back....

First don't worry he was not hurt, right after I shut the camera off he stopped crying. He is a bit dramatic. Hubs says he gets that from me. Ha! I can't help but laugh every time I watch him getting mad at me for taking his toy away, this boy is going to be a handful!

SICK

Is winter over yet? It seems the germs have attacked our house once again. Poor Cole had a little bit of a cough last week and a runny nose so being super cautious I had him go to the doctors. Well I guess my mommy instincts were right, he has a Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Thankfully it's pretty mild and his doctor didn't waste anytime and gave him some medicine. So for the last four days he has been getting a nebulizer to help open his lungs and nose. He seems to be on the mends which is great! But now I'm sick...I hate being sick. I just can't wait till this germ fest is over and we are healthy and happy again.
