The Zoo

We kicked off Mother's Day weekend Saturday by heading out to the Baltimore Zoo. I made sure Cole got in one good nap before heading out to see all the animals. We couldn't’t have picked a better day. The weather was amazing. It wasn’t super crowded. And Cole loved everything about it. He just seemed to take in everything, the animals, all the little kids and just enjoyed being outside. We weren’t overly ambitious in trying to see all the Zoo animals, I knew Cole wouldn’t last very long before getting tired so we went straight to the African Journey. It’s where all the exotic animals are exhibited. The best part …maybe more for me then Cole…was the Giraffe feeding station. You get a chance to feed a Giraffe a leaf up close and personal. I had Hubs do it with Cole and it was awesome! Cole just kept staring at the Giraffe in disbelief that it was right in front of him. Cole got to see pretty much all the animals in the African Journey except for the Lions. They were well hidden and didn’t want to come out and play. :(
We finished off the afternoon with lunch in Fells Point on the water. Cole passed out in his stroller before the food arrived. It made for a very enjoyable lunch and made me miss our city living days. It was an awesome day, I’m so ready for summer!
