Mother’s Day Weekend

It was a wonderful weekend. It included hot air balloons, shopping, dinner out with friends and running through a sprinkler with my little man.

We kicked off the weekend going to the Preakness Hot Air Balloon Festival. It was a first for all of us, Cole loved it! I’m not sure I would call it a festival,  it consisted of food, 20 hot air balloons and a huge field that gave Cole full range to run around all night. It couldn’t have been a prettier night for it all . It was such a chill atmosphere which was a bit of an adjustment for Hubs and me. But after some adult beverages we embraced it and really enjoyed ourselves. Cole is still talking about it, he’s favorite was the Purple Monster Balloon.

I hate to admit I didn’t take one picture on Sunday. We spent the day over on the Eastern Shore at the Outlets. The place was deserted I guess taking Mama to shop on Mother’s day isn’t very popular …for me it was a very welcome treat. The day ended over at my parents with my in-laws joining us for dinner. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

This is the only picture I have of Cole and Me from the
weekend..fail. ha

Mother's Day

My first mother's day was such a great day! The rain held off and we went to Annapolis for brunch. I got a sweet card, flowers and a gift card to get a mani/pedi from my sweet little man. :) We also went over to the Outlets on the Eastern shore where I also got to pick up a few things for our upcoming trip to the beach. The rest of the day was spent relaxing, it was just what I needed.

The Zoo

We kicked off Mother's Day weekend Saturday by heading out to the Baltimore Zoo. I made sure Cole got in one good nap before heading out to see all the animals. We couldn't’t have picked a better day. The weather was amazing. It wasn’t super crowded. And Cole loved everything about it. He just seemed to take in everything, the animals, all the little kids and just enjoyed being outside. We weren’t overly ambitious in trying to see all the Zoo animals, I knew Cole wouldn’t last very long before getting tired so we went straight to the African Journey. It’s where all the exotic animals are exhibited. The best part …maybe more for me then Cole…was the Giraffe feeding station. You get a chance to feed a Giraffe a leaf up close and personal. I had Hubs do it with Cole and it was awesome! Cole just kept staring at the Giraffe in disbelief that it was right in front of him. Cole got to see pretty much all the animals in the African Journey except for the Lions. They were well hidden and didn’t want to come out and play. :(
We finished off the afternoon with lunch in Fells Point on the water. Cole passed out in his stroller before the food arrived. It made for a very enjoyable lunch and made me miss our city living days. It was an awesome day, I’m so ready for summer!
